UMI is a Chinese company that want to build a secure phone at an affordable price tag without sacrificing on the features. The company has launched the Iron Pro which draws its power from an octa core MediaTek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3GHz and paired with 3GB of RAM. UMI has fitted the phone with a 5.5-inch FHD display. On the imaging front the Iron touts a 13-Megapixel Sony IMX 214 Sensor and a 8-Megapixel secondary camera which is also accompanied by a flash. The UMI Iron Pro comes in Silver and Black colors and will host the usual bevy of connectivity features including the Dual SIM slot. Iron Pro is backed up by a 3300 mAh battery pack and it also comes with a Type-C USB cable. The Iron Pro runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 and it also incorporates noise reducing amplifiers. By the looks of it, the Iron Pro can be badged as premium, thanks to the metal finish and the neatly chiselled edges. On the design front at least there are no signs of cost cutting. The USP of this product is the security it boasts of, the Iron Pro comes with three layer of security checks including a 360-degree fingerprint sensor, Iris scanner and voice recognition. It figures out in a list of selected phones only offering such an exhaustive list of “phone unlocking features”. It sets us wondering if everyone would take the pain of passing all the three security checks just to check their emails, that being said it would have been great if UMI had made some changes on the OS front, like deploying a better encrypted custom ROM which will cannot be easily broken into. That being said, UMI has done a commendable job of balancing the features and the price point as it retails at a rather cheap price of $179.99.
